To Those Who Helped the Tournament:

The Grove United Memorial Tournament Committee wishes to thank all the people that made our tournament so incredible even though there were some trying weather conditions.

First, I would like to thank the best tournament committee I could ever have been lucky enough to be around.  This incredible core of individuals work tirelessly year round to put on this event for 360 teams, 5500 players and the more than 17000 people who attended our tournament this weekend. You all really are the best and I am so happy to be a part of this wonderful group.

I would like to thank all the volunteers who worked tirelessly to help us with all the details that go into trying to make everyone's visit to our tournament a special one.  Our hope is to always have people always leave our event with a positive experience and fond memories and we hope we achieved that despite the weather as we really tried the best we could.

I want to give a special thank you to Bob Fiordaliso and Dr Scott Clark and Athletico for tending to any injuries that occurred.  We had a staff at our tournament of 6 people so we could respond attentively to any of our guests needs as safety of our players was our top goal.

This tournament could not have been pulled off if not for our referees being so flexible and working such long hours hanging in there so we had referees at all of our games even with the difficult weather and delays.  Vijay Kumar and his crew were great to work with through out the tournament, doing all they could to keep games on time, notify our teams of changes that were occurring as the weather was affecting our games and working with us to reschedule all of the games.

Our sponsors, food providers for the volunteers and our vendors, we want to thank you so much for all of your giving, donating, help during this great undertaking and we wish to thank you so much for participating with us, many of you year after year and some wonderful newcomers.

My last thank you is to the Schaumburg Park District, who worked endlessly behind the scenes moving goals and getting fields ready for everyone to be able to play the games.  There are some park districts that go beyond the call of duty, but Schaumburg's park district must be a model all park districts should strive to become.  They are there every step of the way working with you, helping you with the yes we can do this attitude.  They help you happily and think outside the box to solve all the needs we as a tournament ask for and many things we ask for are the near impossible's and yet they pull it off with ease.

It takes all of you, each giving to pull off a soccer tournament that had 360 teams with an additional 180 teams who wanted to join us, making our tournament one of the largest tournaments but with all of you, I feel made us the best tournament.

Our tournament committee wishes to say thank you and know we all really appreciate all that each of you did to make this years soccer tournament a wonderful memory for so many.
